Qualifications

• 3–5+ years of costing, inventory accounting, or financial analysis in a Canadian manufacturing environment.
• Strong understanding of manufacturing costing, inventory accounting, standard costs, COGS, and variance analysis.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.

Responsibilities

• Manage and maintain inventory records, pricing, and standard costing information.
• Perform month-end inventory reconciliations to the general ledger and prepare journal entries.
• Analyze inventory variances, including manufacturing, packaging, waste, and obsolete inventory.
• Manage inventory adjustments, allowances, and COGS allocations.
• Prepare inventory and costing reports and investigate discrepancies.
• Support period-end inventory closing and adjustments.
• Assist with physical inventory counts and inventory controls.
• Work with FP&A and operational teams on standard costing for finished goods, bulk items, and new products.
• Support inventory-related internal controls, audits, and financial reporting.
• Identify opportunities to improve costing, inventory processes, controls, and efficiencies.
• Work closely with Finance, FP&A, Operations, and Manufacturing teams.

Our client, a well-established manufacturing company, is seeking a Senior Costing & Inventory Analyst to support inventory accounting, costing, financial reporting, reconciliations, and internal controls. This is a hands‑on role suited to an experienced accounting or finance professional with strong manufacturing costing and inventory experience.

• 3–5+ years of progressive experience in costing, inventory accounting, or financial analysis within a Canadian manufacturing environment.
• Strong understanding of manufacturing costing, inventory accounting, standard costs, COGS, and variance analysis.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities.
• Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
• CPA designation or CPA in progress is an asset.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
