Job summary

Baskits Inc. in Toronto, Ontario is seeking an Accounting Manager to report to the Chief Financial Officer and lead core accounting activities in a dynamic hybrid environment.

The ideal candidate will drive accuracy and efficiency in accounts payable and receivable, tax compliance, depreciation, payroll, general ledger reconciliation, and year-end processes for two entities, while supporting management with timely financial reporting.

Qualifications

• 10+ years accounting experience required.
• Accounting designation or enrollment in accounting degree program is a plus.
• Experience with NetSuite ERP is a definite asset.
• Strong Excel skills and MS Office proficiency.
• Ability to communicate effectively and meet deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Process customer payments including cheque, card payments by phone, and electronic payments.
• Input vendors to be paid electronically for CFO approval.
• Input electronic payments for CFO/CEO approval depending on amount.
• Accounts receivable collections.
• Prepare monthly sales tax returns.
• Monthly depreciation calculations.
• Bi-weekly payroll entries.
• Perform general ledger reconciliations (monthly/yearly).
• Prepare journal entries for CFO approval.
• Assist with year-end external reviews for two companies.
• Support various financial reports and special projects.

Accounting Full Time Toronto, ON Hybrid $37 - $50 CAD per hour

We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Accounting Manager to report to our Chief Financial Officer and assist with finance and accounting activities. This role works cross-functionally with internal teams and external partners, contributing to the financial management and overall operations. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced environment.

Key Duties & Responsibilities

• Process customer payments received either by cheque, credit card payments by phone, and electronic payments


• Input vendors to be paid electronically into bank portal for CFO approval


• Input electronic payments in bank portal for CFO and/or CEO approval depending on amount


• Accounts receivable collections


• Prepare monthly sales tax returns


• Monthly depreciation calculation


• Bi-weekly payroll entries


• Various general ledger account reconciliations


• Monthly account reconciliations


• Preparing journal entries as required for approval by CFO


• Calculate weekly payments to contract delivery drivers


• Assist with various financial reports as required


• Assist with year-end external accounting reviews for 2 companies


• Special projects as required

Qualifications and soft skills

• Minimum 10+ years accounting experience


• Accounting designation or enrollment in an accounting degree course an asset


• Will provide possibilities for future promotion within the company


• Experience working in an ERP accounting system


• Experience with NetSuite ERP a definite asset!


• Excellent knowledge of MS Office with special emphasis on Excel


• Organized, proactive, self-motivated and capable of producing results and meeting deadlines


• Able to communicate effectively and develop strong working relationships with colleagues


• Experience with purchasing in a manufacturing environment would be an asset


• Work in office with the possibility of a hybrid arrangement after probation period
