Job summary

PCL Constructors Inc. is seeking an Analytics Student for our North American Headquarters in Edmonton, Alberta, for an eight-month period starting January 2027. The role offers hands-on experience with data reporting, BI dashboards and cross-functional collaboration.

You will work on developing and maintaining reports, translating business needs into production dashboards, and acquiring data from diverse sources while gaining exposure to advanced analytics projects.

Qualifications

• Enrolled in a computing science, computer engineering or information management related program.
• Keen interest in data management for BI and analytics.
• Ability to quickly gain proficiency in new software.
• Experience with Power BI preferred.
• Experience with relational databases and SQL preferred.
• Experience with Python and C# preferred.
• Strong communication skills (verbal & written).
• Excellent problem-solving and attention to detail in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Develops and maintains reports and dashboards.

We are seekingan Analytics Student for our North American Headquarters district in Edmonton, Alberta,that is availablefor 8 months starting in January 2027.

As an Analytics Student and depending on your assigned project, you will have the opportunity to contribute to our team by:

• Develops and maintains reports and dashboards.
• Translates business needs into production reports and dashboards.
• Acquires data from a variety of structured and unstructured data sources.
• Provides technical support and assistance to report and dashboard consumers.
• Creates and maintain process and system documentation.
• Participates in advanced analytics projects.
• Liaises with business, technology, and support teams to ensure business requirements are met.
• Identifies and suggests improvements to existing solutions and processes.
• Performs quality assurance and system testing.

What you will bring to the role:

• Currently enrolled in a computing science, computer engineering or information management related program.
• Keen interest in data management as it applies to business intelligence and analytics.
• Ability to quickly gain proficiency in new software.
• Experience with data visualization tools such as Power BI is preferred.
• Experience with relational databases and SQL is preferred but not required.
• Experience with programming languages such as Python and C# is preferred but not required.
• In addition to the technical skills listed above, the ideal candidate will possess the following qualities:
• Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
• Excellent problem-solving skills
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, be flexible, stay organized, and maintain attention to detail and accuracy.
