Job summary

PCL Constructors Inc. is seeking a Senior Business Systems Analyst in Edmonton, Alberta.

You will gather and validate business requirements for Time Entry and Payroll systems, lead stakeholder workshops, and develop training materials to ensure successful adoption across the organization. The role emphasizes process optimization, change management, and ongoing collaboration with multiple business units to deliver robust solutions.

Qualifications

  • 8+ years of business analysis experience required.
  • Post-secondary education in information systems, IT, business, commerce or computing science.
  • BABOK or IIBA certification would be asset.
  • Experience with BPMN is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Understand Time Entry and Payroll systems requirements and outcomes.
  • Gather, document, design, and validate business system requirements.
  • Lead workshops and build consensus with stakeholders across units.
  • Create training materials and manage rollout to internal clients.
  • Develop use cases, user stories, and wireframes with validation.
  • Design intuitive user experiences and drive user adoption.
  • Create change management plans to maximize engagement.
  • Provide customer-centric support and assist data conversion activities.

Here's how aSenior Business Systems Analyst for PCL Constructors Inc. within Edmonton NAHQ contributes to our team:

  • Understand Time Entry and Payroll systems requirements, strategies, best practices, processes and business outcomes
  • Gather, document, design, and validate business system user requirements
  • Lead workshops and build consensus with stakeholders and subject matter experts across multiple business units
  • Create and maintain business requirements and design training documentation and materials
  • Manage and lead training rollouts to the internal client group
  • Develop use case scenarios, user stories, and training material
  • Design intuitive user experiences using wireframes / mockups, and collaborate with stakeholders to validate solutions that support business processes and drive user adoption
  • Create and execute change management plans to drive acceptance, adoption, minimize resistance, and maximize engagement and efficiencies
  • Provide robust, customer centric support to all users
  • Develop media and communication to assist in change management
  • Assist in the analysis and verification of data conversion activities
  • Continuous learning of industry best practices
  • Working with business process optimization to define baseline processes for the organization
  • Record UAT results, track issues, report status, and gain signoff on user acceptance
  • Assisting in the defining of requirements and building of Time Entry and Payroll reports
  • Demonstrate a strong understanding of how information is stored and captured in a Time Entry and Payroll system, and how it is used in integration systems
  • Assist in the testing of the system configuration from a user perspective to identify software issues
  • Use AI to ensure all responsibilities listed above are done as efficiently as possible
Qualifications
  • Minimum of 8 years of business analysis experience is required
  • Post-secondary education in information systems, information technology, business administration, commerce, computing science or a related field is required
  • Certification with BABOK (Business Analyst Body of Knowledge) or IIBA (International Institute of Business Analysis) would be considered an asset.
  • Experience with BPMN (Business Process Model Notation) would be an asset
  • Experience using Figma (or equivalent) to create and validate user interface designs is considered an asset
  • Comfortable working with high profile, aggressive project schedules
  • Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills
  • Able to develop creative solutions to meet customer needs for company-wide processes and software
  • Knowledge and practical experience with software implementations, software development lifecycle methodologies, business process re-engineering, and organizational change management
  • Demonstrated relationship building skills with diverse stakeholder groups
  • A positive attitude with a passion and commitment to project success
  • Ability to work effectively within a team environment
  • Additional consideration will be given to people who are experienced in Time Entry and Payroll systems
