Job summary

Loblaw Digital in Downtown Toronto is seeking a Senior Manager, BI and Analytics Engineering to lead analytics engineering, data modeling and governance across our digital platforms. You will drive strategy, build scalable data foundations, and mentor engineers while partnering with Product, Technology and business teams to turn data into actionable insights.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree is an asset.
• 8+ years of experience in analytics engineering, analytics, product analytics or BI, including people leadership.
• Strong SQL, data modelling and analytics engineering skills with cloud data platforms (BigQuery, Snowflake, dbt).
• Experience building scalable data models, trusted metrics and reusable datasets with testing and data quality.
• Experience enabling self-service analytics with governed datasets and BI platforms (Looker, Tableau, Power BI).
• Strong understanding of digital and product analytics, including funnels and experimentation.
• Experience applying AI/generative AI to analytics with governance and data quality.

Responsibilities

• Lead, coach and develop a high-performing team of analytics engineers and analytics professionals.
• Define and evolve the Analytics Engineering and Analytics strategy, standards and roadmap.
• Build trusted, scalable analytics foundations through data models, metrics, testing and documentation.
• Champion analytics engineering best practices, including modular modeling, version control, CI/CD and code review.
• Drive self-service and AI-enabled analytics through governed datasets and semantic layers.
• Use analytics to identify opportunities, diagnose issues and measure impact.
• Partner across Data, Engineering, Product, Marketing, Trading and business teams.
