Job summary

Michael Garron Hospital (MGH) is seeking a strategic Analyst, Research Strategy & Operations to partner with senior leaders and advance priorities through planning, coordination, and effective communication.

The role supports the Chief Scientific Officer, Medical Director, and Director, Research Operations, driving integrated initiatives across care and research functions.

Qualifications

• Minimum of three (3) years of related experience in a strategy, operations, research, or project management role within a complex healthcare, academic, or research environment.
• Experience in science communication, knowledge translation, and research dissemination is strongly preferred.
• Experience supporting strategic planning, operational initiatives, and/or senior leadership functions is an asset.
• Demonstrated ability to build collaborative relationships and work effectively across multidisciplinary teams.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to tailor messaging to technical and non-technical audiences.

Responsibilities

• Support research leadership in planning, implementing, measuring, and reporting on strategic initiatives.
• Coordinate cross-functional activities and executive communications for the Research Strategy & Operations team.
• Translate complex scientific and operational concepts into concise communications for executives, clinicians, and patients.
• Assist with briefing materials, presentations, and board-level reports to strengthen governance and decision-making.

This role serves as a strategic partner to Research & Innovation leadership, advancing key priorities through strategic planning, cross-functional coordination, executive support, and the facilitation of effective communication and alignment across the organization.

The Analyst, Research Strategy & Operations will support the research leadership team including the Chief Scientific Officer, Medical Director, and Director, to plan, implement, measure, and report on strategic initiatives. The role reports to the Director, Research Operations, and Business development.

The successful candidate will be a trusted partner to senior leaders, known for their ability to anticipate needs, synthesize complex information, and drive work forward. A key dimension of this role is the ability to translate complex research and scientific concepts into clear, compelling communications for diverse audiences, including executives, Board members, clinicians, and patients.

EDUCATION

• Bachelor’s degree in health sciences, public health, health services research, science communication, health design, healthcare engineering, health administration, business, public policy, or a related field, required
• Master’s degree in health sciences or a related field, preferred

• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities, exercise sound judgment, and adapt effectively in a dynamic and evolving environment.
• Demonstrated ability to synthesize complex scientific, operational, financial, and research information into clear, concise, and audience-appropriate communications for diverse internal and external interest holders.
• Experience preparing high-quality briefing materials, presentations, and reports for executive and/or Board-level audiences.
• Demonstrated ability to synthesize information from environmental scans, policy reviews, and operational analyses to generate insights, identify gaps, and support evidence-informed recommendations that strengthen research operations and governance.
• Experience using data and performance metrics to support planning, monitoring, and continuous improvement is an asset.
• Demonstrated curiosity, initiative, and commitment to continuous learning, with the ability to ask insightful questions, acquire new knowledge, and apply evidence to inform analysis and strategic decision-making.
• Advanced proficiency with Microsoft 365 applications, including Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Power BI, and Visio. Experience developing executive-quality presentations, dashboards, reports, and other decision-support materials is considered an asset.
• Good work and attendance record required.
