Job summary

TELUS Health in Vancouver seeks a skilled pension administration analyst to support medium-sized plans, including processing termination, retirement and death benefits. You will prepare year-end statements and ensure data accuracy across pension databases.

The role requires strong Excel skills, sharp analytical thinking, and clear communication in English; French is a plus. A hybrid work model with in-office and remote options is offered, along with a competitive compensation package.

Qualifications

  • Post-secondary education in Mathematics, Statistics or Actuarial Science or related Pension Administration courses.
  • Sharp analytical thinking and attention to detail.
  • Dedicated team player with initiative and independence.
  • Excellent organizational skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication in English; French a plus.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Excel.

Responsibilities

  • Respond to client inquiries regarding plan details promptly and professionally.
  • Calculate and process termination, retirement, and death benefits for medium-sized plans and review for simple plans.
  • Prepare year-end pension statements with accuracy.
  • Prepare membership and asset data for actuarial valuations.
  • Apply and interpret pension benefit calculations per plan provisions and law.
  • Work with pension databases to ensure data accuracy.
  • Attend internal training to stay updated on industry trends.
  • Participate in client meetings and presentations to add value.
  • Assist with special projects to support team goals.

What you’ll do
  • Respond to plan inquiries and requests from clients promptly and professionally
  • Calculate and process timely payment of termination, retirement, and death benefits for medium-sized plans and review such for simple plans
  • Prepare year-end annual pension statements accurately
  • Prepare membership and asset data for actuarial valuations conscientiously
  • Apply and interpret pension benefit calculations in accordance with plan provisions and legislative requirements
  • Work with pension databases to ensure data accuracy
  • Attend internal training sessions to stay updated on industry trends and topics
  • Participate in client meetings and presentations to add value
  • Assist with special projects as required to support team goals
What you bring
  • Post-secondary education (preferably in Mathematics, Statistics, Actuarial Science) or relevant courses related to Pension Administration
  • Sharp analytical thinking and attention to details
  • Dedicated team player who demonstrates initiative and independence
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills in English; French would be an asset
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Excel

Salary Range: $ 40,000 - $60,000 Actual total compensation will be determined based on factors such as knowledge, skills, performance and experience.
