Job summary

Synechron is seeking an Automation Engineer to design and implement AI-driven automation for its Sophis platform. You will learn the end-to-end trading system, identify regressions, and build scalable automation within modern CI/CD pipelines.

The role focuses on hands-on testing, AI-assisted development tools, and multi-team collaboration to ship reliable automation across Unix and Windows environments.

Qualifications

• 8+ years as a software developer or automation engineer who writes production-grade code.
• Strong Python skills (pytest, pandas, numpy, cx_Oracle) and comfort with SQL (Oracle and/or Sybase/SQL Server).
• Hands‑on experience contributing to or building CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions, Jenkins).
• Working experience with AI‑assisted development tools (Copilot, Windsurf, Cursor) and curiosity to go deeper into LLM‑based automation.

Responsibilities

• Learn Sophis end-to-end — from trade booking and pricing through EOD batch, P&L, risk and regulatory outputs.
• Analyse and compare benchmark outputs to identify regressions and behavioural changes.
• Develop domain expertise for automation decisions and data flows.
• Transform testing from manual to automated with high-value automation.
