Synechron is seeking a Senior QA Automation Engineer in Calgary to lead UI and API automation efforts using Java, Selenium WebDriver, TestNG, and Cucumber. The role emphasizes building robust automation frameworks, SQL-based data validation, and CI/CD familiarity in a fast-paced, global consultancy environment.

The ideal candidate will design testing strategies, craft reusable scripts, and collaborate across Product, QA, UAT, Development, and PMO teams.

Qualifications

• Experienced QA resource with strong Java & Selenium/Java QA.
• Strong in writing SQL queries.
• Develop framework components and script development for automated testing.
• Exposure to Rest API Automation
• Build and release process (CI/CD implementation knowledge).

Responsibilities

• Write test scripts from user requirements, execute and report results.
• UI and API automation testing.
• Work with Java, TestNG, Selenium WebDriver, Cucumber, Protractor.
• Evaluate and document business case for enterprise improvements.
• Design basic Excel spreadsheets and Word documents.
• Demonstrate knowledge of quality methodologies, tools, and metrics.
• Be highly self-motivated and able to learn independently.
• Exhibit strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing.
• Collaborate in a cross-functional team with product analysts, QA, UAT, Dev, and PMO.
• Follow project schedules and manage changing priorities.
• Located in Calgary for hybrid work.
