Job summary

Valtech in Canada is seeking a visionary Technical Director for AI-Native Cloud & DevOps to guide cloud-native transformations, AI-enabled automation, and enterprise-scale delivery. You will mentor engineering leadership, shape technical strategy, and partner with executives to deliver impact.

The role demands deep Azure knowledge, Next.js experience, and a track record in Agentic AI, modern web architectures, and global delivery.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of software engineering, cloud architecture, platform engineering, or DevOps.
• 5+ years in technical leadership, architecture leadership, or consulting leadership roles.
• Deep expertise in Microsoft Azure services, architecture patterns, governance, security, and operations.
• Strong experience designing and delivering enterprise apps using Next.js, React, and modern web architectures.
• Proven experience implementing Agentic AI, AI-enabled automation, autonomous workflows, copilots, or advanced AI frameworks.
• Experience with cloud-native architectures, microservices, APIs, containers, and distributed systems.
• Strong client-facing consulting experience with executive stakeholder management.
• Microsoft Azure services including App Services, AKS, Functions, AI Services, Networking, Security, Identity, Data Services, and Platform Engineering.

Responsibilities

• Define and drive technical vision, architecture strategies, and best practices for cloud and DevOps engagements.
• Lead the design and delivery of large-scale cloud-native solutions on Microsoft Azure.
• Establish engineering standards, governance, security controls, and operational excellence practices.
• Act as a trusted advisor to client executives, technology leaders, and product organizations.
• Lead the design and implementation of Agentic AI solutions leveraging AI orchestration frameworks, LLMs, copilots, autonomous workflows, and intelligent agents.
• Drive cloud adoption, modernization, migration, and platform engineering initiatives.
• Establish CI/CD pipelines, Infrastructure as Code, observability, reliability engineering, and cloud governance practices.
• Guide platform teams in implementing scalable DevOps operating models and automation strategies.
• Ensure solutions meet security, compliance, performance, and reliability requirements.
• Lead multidisciplinary engineering teams across multiple engagements.
• Support pre-sales, solutioning, technical discovery workshops, and proposal development.
• Provide executive-level communication and technical leadership throughout project delivery.
• Manage technical risk, architecture decisions, and delivery quality.
• Mentor architects, engineers, and technical managers.
• Foster a culture of innovation, continuous improvement, and technical excellence.
