Job summary

Canam is seeking an Predictive Planning & Inventory Supervisor to lead supply chain operations, manage a small team, and oversee material purchasing, forecasting, and inventory control across key product lines. The role combines hands-on planning with leadership, mentoring a Senior Buyer, a Buyer, and an Inventory Control Clerk.

Qualifications

• 5-7+ years of progressive experience in material purchasing, materials management, production planning, or supply chain analysis within a manufacturing environment.
• 1-3 years in direct supervisory capacity.
• Experience in steel or heavy manufacturing preferred.
• Proficiency with ERP systems and Excel; data analysis and dashboard skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead the demand planning cycle across product categories and maintain rolling forecasts.
• Collaborate with Sales, Operations, Engineering, and Project Management to validate assumptions.
• Manage material rolling dates, and prepare Monthly Material Requirement Overview.
• Monitor inventory levels, flag risks, and drive corrective actions.
• Design and implement ML models to optimize inventory and forecast demand.
