Job summary

Richardson International through Richardson Pioneer invites new graduates to join a one-year Agribusiness Assistant development program across our ag business centres in Western Canada. You will be exposed to agronomy, grain handling, crop inputs and sales, with structured development and mentoring.

As part of Richardson’s 165-year legacy, ABAs gain hands-on experience in budgeting, planning, scheduling, customer service, and career development opportunities, with a competitive compensation

Qualifications

  • Graduate with Agriculture or Business degree/diploma.
  • Interest in Agronomy, Agribusiness, Crop Input Sales or Grain Marketing.
  • Strong initiative and customer service.
  • Ability to work in a team and communicate well.
  • Valid driver's license required.
  • Willingness to participate in a one-year development program.

Responsibilities

  • Gain experience in crop inputs, agronomy, grain handling and customer service.
  • Develop skills in grain grading, blending and marketing.
  • Support sales and operations management including budgeting and scheduling.
  • Collaborate with teams across agribusiness centre operations.

Agribusiness Assistants (ABAs) will experience a number of challenging positions within our Richardson Pioneer Ag Business Centres. This one-year program is designed to help ABAs identify their specific career path in:

  • Agronomy
  • Agribusiness
  • Grain Sales and Marketing
  • Crop Inputs
  • Operations
Responsibilities: The Agribusiness Assistant will gain experience in crop inputs, agronomy, grain handling, customer service, grain grading, grain blending, grain marketing, sales, operations management including exposure to budgeting, business planning and scheduling.Qualifications:
  • Graduate of an Agriculture or Business degree or diploma program and interest in working in the agricultural industry
  • Interest in a career in Agronomy, Agribusiness, Crop Input Sales or Grain Marketing
  • Strong sense of initiative
  • Excellent customer service
  • Leadership skills
  • Ability to work as a team
  • Organized and detail oriented
  • A valid driver's licence is required
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
