Job summary

Prairie Co-op is hiring a Permanent Full Time Ag Division Manager to lead the agriculture division, drive sales and profitability, and develop talent across sites. Location is to be determined.

You will work with the Director of Ag & Energy to oversee Ag Retail Managers, ensure optimal operations, and collaborate with procurement to secure the right products at the right value. Strong leadership, strategic planning and relationship-building are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Agriculture or related field.
• 10+ years of relevant experience, including 6+ years in leadership.
• Strong relationship building and strategic thinking.

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership for overall performance of the Ag division, incl. sales growth and profitability.
• Oversee Ag Retail Managers to ensure effective operations and staff productivity.
• Partner with Procurement to maintain right-place, right-value product flow.
• Develop annual profit plans and monitor financial performance.
• Assist in developing a customer experience management strategy.
• Lead compliance with legal, safety, and ethical standards.
• Build strategic relationships with partners, members, and community.

What youll do:

• The Ag Division Manager will provide leadership and accountability for the overall performance of Prairie Co-ops agriculture division, including sales growth, profitability, customer experience, talent development and operational excellence.
• Works closely with the Director of Ag & Energy to oversee the activities of Prairie Co-ops Ag Retail Managers to ensure effective location operations and to be responsible for sales, margin, expenses, inventory and effectiveness of staff.
• Works closely with the Procurement Manager to ensure that product is in the right place and at the correct value.
• Assists in the development of each Sites annual profit plan
• Analyzes existing and anticipated marketing conditions and make recommendations
• Assist in developing and executing a Customer Experience Management (CEM) strategy
• Provides effective leadership to ensure Sites are operated under legal, safe, and ethical standards.
• Develop and maintain strategic relationship with industry partners, suppliers, Prairie Co-op members, and community stakeholders.
• Coach and develop Ag Retail Managers through performance management, succession planning, leadership development and operational guidance and support.
• Other duties as assigned
