Job summary

West Shore Parks & Recreation seeks an Afterschool Care Team Leader to oversee planning, staffing, and evaluation of the afterschool program. The role ensures licensing standards are met and activities run smoothly, with opportunities to manage supplies and calendars.

You will supervise a small team, plan programs, and drive a 24-passenger bus to transport children to and from the JDF recreation centre. The position includes access to employee counselling and a staff facility pass for on-site

Qualifications

• Must be 19 years or older and licensed care program experience.
• Post-secondary education or equivalent experience in related field.
• Experience in staffing, program planning, and licensing compliance.
• First Aid/CPR-C/AED certification required.
• Class 4 driver's license; ability to drive a 24-passenger bus.

Responsibilities

• Lead and supervise the afterschool program with a focus on licensing standards.
• Plan, implement, and evaluate activities for children in care.
• Pre-trip and drive a 24-passenger bus to pick up and return children to the center.
• Assist with supply requisition, calendars, and admin tasks.
• Communicate with parents, staff, and supervisors; ensure safety and licensing compliance.
