Job summary

YMCA Hamilton | Burlington | Brantford is seeking a Before and After School Program Lead to support a large after‑school program for 3.8 to 12‑year‑olds. You will guide staff, ensure safe, enriching activities, and coordinate with schools, parents, and community partners.

Reporting to the Manager, Early Learning & Child Care, you will help plan daily activities, monitor safety, and uphold YMCA policies and regulations, while working a split shift and flexibility for early mornings and evenings

Qualifications

• Post-secondary education in child & youth related field or equivalent experience.
• Minimum 2 years’ experience in a licensed child care setting.
• Current Director’s Approval as a Centre Designate.
• Knowledge of CCEYA and related regulations (Ministry requirements).
• Ability to work split shifts and evenings; flexible scheduling.
• Access to reliable personal transportation.

Responsibilities

• Support and mentor staff, ensuring effective program delivery and supervision of children.
• Develop and maintain strong relationships with staff, children, parents, school personnel and partners.
• Assist educators in planning and leading activities for ages 3.8–12 years to meet developmental needs.
• Maintain safety and well-being of children; monitor equipment and supplies.
• Ensure compliance with YMCA policies, CCEYA, and health and safety policies.
• Represent YMCA on School Council and fill gaps as needed.
• Move and set up equipment in shared spaces as required.
• Work split shifts including before/after school and evenings.
