Job summary

GFL Environmental Inc. is seeking an Operations Supervisor for the Toronto facility to oversee afternoon and night shift staff, ensuring safe and efficient production while maintaining zero harm. The role involves data analysis, process improvement, and strong teamwork in a fast-paced environment.

The candidate will rotate shifts (3:00pm–11:00pm and 11:00pm–7:00am) and must adapt to extended hours as needed. A technical degree or diploma and 3–5 years of supervisory experience are required.

Qualifications

• Degree or diploma in a Technical or Engineering field.
• 3–5 years in a supervisory role; unionized environment experience preferred.
• Strong analytical background is essential.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Proficient with Google Sheets, Google Docs, Gmail, OMS and Agile.
• Flexible to work extended hours.

Responsibilities

• Maintain Branch Safety programs, documents and training; lead safety improvements.
• Ensure operations comply with corporate policies and permit conditions; follow customer specs.
• Supervise daily operations and provide leadership to operating and maintenance teams.
• Prioritize incoming/outgoing load notifications and ensure scheduled work is completed.
• Ensure visitors and contractors comply with safety policies.
• Maintain and implement SOPs and PM programs.
• Manage 3rd party service providers on site and inventories of consumables.
• Monitor KPIs and ensure accurate outbound load paperwork.
• Troubleshoot issues and identify root causes to prevent recurrence.
• Review maintenance spare parts requirements and stocking levels.
