Job summary

GFL Environmental Inc. in Hamilton, Ontario is seeking an Emergency Response Supervisor to oversee daily operations and coordinate crews on hazardous materials response and remediation projects.

You will lead safety meetings, ensure compliance with NFPA 472, WHMIS, and OH&S standards, and manage documentation, service scheduling, and customer interactions while maintaining high team performance.

Qualifications

• Minimum 4 years in a supervisor role with spill response cleanup and remediation.
• NFPA 472 knowledge is required.
• Confined Space Entry & Rescue training is required.
• WSIB and First Aid certifications expected.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily operations and coordination of crews.
• Ensure all employees follow company policies, procedures, and laws.
• Lead safety meetings and train staff on safety issues.
• Schedule service and meet customer needs for changes.
• Dispatch crews for projects and demands.
• Review daily reports and ensure proper data entry.
• Coordinate with other departments to resolve service issues.
• Review and process daily paperwork and billing for completed work orders.
• Interact with customers and internal teams to resolve concerns.
• Assist in business planning for tenders and new ventures.
• Ensure regulatory compliance across operations.
