BGC York Region is hiring for an After-School Program Coordinator to deliver engaging activities for children aged 6 to 14, supervise staff and volunteers, and ensure a safe, organized program environment.

The role requires collaboration with parents, schools, and community partners, with a focus on planning, attendance management, and adherence to safety guidelines for the 2026/2027 year. Working hours are after school, PA days, and occasional evenings.

Qualifications

  • Demonstrated experience working with children aged 6–14 years in a structured environment.
  • Strong skills in supervision and program planning with a track record of positive environments.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks, maintain records, and ensure program safety.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee and coordinate the After-School Program, aligning activities with guidelines for 2026/2027.
  • Supervise staff and volunteers, provide guidance, and manage registrations and attendance.
  • Supervise safety and incident reporting; enforce safety protocols and policies.
  • Monitor attendance, contact parents if children are absent, and manage participant lists.
  • Liaise with parents/guardians and school staff; foster community partnerships to enhance program delivery.
  • Handle policy enforcement, disciplinary actions, and conflict resolution.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned by the Program Manager and Supervisors.
