Job summary

RTX's Oakville Facility in Ontario seeks a skilled Machine Shop Technician - Lathe to work on complex AHT parts to drawing, operating CNC lathes, and ensuring precision in a fast-paced shop environment.

Reporting to the Machine Shop Supervisor, you will work on the weekday afternoon shift (4:00 p.m. - 2:00 a.m.), contribute to quality logs, and participate in continuous improvement activities within the cell.

Qualifications

• High school diploma and 3–5 years of current lathe machining experience.
• Experience reading and interpreting blueprints.
• Experience using measuring equipment to support quality requirements.

Responsibilities

• Perform own manual set-ups by positioning and aligning tooling per set-up instructions using CNC programming language (G codes).
• Maintain tolerances by observing operation and making necessary machine offset adjustments, cutter changes and self-inspection (OSV).
• Document actions in support of quality logs and communicate discrepancies; create Product Defect Sheets (PDS) as required.
• Perform work from set-up sheets, manufacturing sheets and drawings.
• Support continuous improvement, 5S activities and Standard Work.
• Operate other machines within the cell as needed.
