Job summary

Collins Aerospace in Oakville, Ontario is seeking a lathe machinist for onsite work with 3–5 years of current lathe experience. Qualifications

  • Typically; High school diploma, and a minimum of 3-5 years of current Lathe machining experience.
  • Experience utilizing measuring equipment in support of quality requirements.
  • Experience reading and interpreting blueprints.
  • Eligible to work in Canada; meet ITAR and CCGP requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Perform own set-ups by positioning and aligning tooling per set-up instructions using CNC programming language (G codes).
  • Maintain tolerances by observing operation and making necessary machine offset adjustments, cutter changes and self-inspection (OSV).
  • Document actions in quality logs, communicate discrepancies in machining to supervision and create Product Defect Sheets (PDS).
  • Perform work from set-up sheets, manufacturing sheets and drawings.
  • Support and promote continuous improvement, 5S activities and Standard Work.
  • Development in the cell and multi-task and operate other machines within the cell.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

What You Will Do

  • Development in the cell.
  • Multi-task and operate other machines within the cell.

Qualifications We Require

  • The selected candidate has to be eligible to work in Canada; successful candidate must meet all requirements under ITAR and CCGP

The salary range for this role is 61,334 CAD – 97,190 CAD . The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels.
