Job summary

Paladin Airport Security Services Ltd. is seeking an Advisor, Labour Relations for Vancouver's Pacific Region. This role supports employees in line with corporate HR policies and ensures compliance across multiple collectives.

You will advise managers on disciplinary actions, handle grievances, and contribute to strategic labour relations initiatives. The position requires a Bachelor's degree in labour relations or related field and 3+ years of experience, with strong communication, negotiation,

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in labour relations, human resources, or related field.
• CPHR/CRHA designation considered an asset.
• 3+ years of experience in labour relations or related field.
• Experience in collective bargaining, grievance procedures, and dispute resolution is considered an asset.
• Knowledge of the Canada LabourCode, regulations and employment law is considered an asset.
• Demonstrated strength in communication, negotiation, and conflict resolution.
• Proven leadership and people management capabilities.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
• Ability to obtain Transportation Security Clearance (TSC) and eligibility for Federal Security Clearance.
• Willingness and ability to travel to other airports within the region as required.

Responsibilities

• Provide guidance and support to managers on disciplinary matters, collective agreements, grievances, and arbitration preparation.
• Communicate with employees and management to identify issues, mitigate risk, and resolve conflicts.
• Conduct investigations into employee complaints and policy violations and recommend resolutions.
• Build relationships with cross-functional departments to support objectives across the Pacific Region.
• Serve as a subject matter expert on collective agreement interpretation and labour relations best practices.
• Deliver coaching and training on collective agreements, employee relations, and related topics.
• Collaborate with People & Culture team on key issues and initiatives.
• Participate in development and implementation of HR strategies aligned with organizational goals.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Job description

TheAdvisor, Labour Relationsisa key differentiator for PASS. The position is accountable for ensuring employees are supported in a manner consistent with best practices and the policies and proceduresestablishedby PASS's Corporate People & Culture Department. In addition to providing day-to-day labour relations support and ensuring compliance with multiple collective agreements within a complex multi-union environment across the Pacific region, the Advisor, Labour Relations is also responsible for the following functions:

• Provideexpert guidance and support to managers on disciplinary matters, interpretation and application of collective agreements, grievance management, dispute resolution, and arbitration preparation across the Pacific Region.
• Communicate effectively with employees and management toidentifyissues, mitigate risk, and resolve workplace conflicts.
• Conduct investigations in response to employee complaints, policy violations, and recommendappropriate resolutions.
• Build andmaintaincollaborative relationships with cross-functional departments to support operational and organizationalobjectivesacross the Pacific Region.
• Act as asubject matter expert on the collective agreementinterpretation, legislativecomplianceand labour relations best practices, and support the organization's collective bargaining strategy.
• Deliver coaching and training programs on collective agreements, employee relations issues such as respectful workplace, conflict management,investigationsand other topics as needed.
• Collaborate withPeople & Culture team on key issues, specialprojectsand/orinitiatives,as needed.
• Participate in the development and implementation of HR strategies that align with the organization’s goals andobjectives.
