Job summary

The Adult Program Supervisor at YMCA of Three Rivers leads delivery and growth of the Adult Program department, overseeing fitness centre services, personal training, group fitness, and adult recreational sports on-site at Chaplin Family YMCA. You will report to the Center Manager and coach staff and volunteers to maintain safe, welcoming experiences for members.

You bring 1–3 years of leadership and fitness industry experience, with Group Fitness and/or Personal Training certifications.

Qualifications

  • 1-3 years of leadership experience.
  • 1-3 years in the fitness industry.
  • Group Fitness (Zumba, TRX, HIIT) and/or Personal Training Certification required.
  • Experience with program quality assurance.
  • Aquatic Fitness Certification is considered an asset.
  • Group Fitness Certification - Cardio & Strength considered an asset.
  • Ability to coach diverse groups of people and communicate effectively.
  • Standard First Aid and CPR-C.

Responsibilities

  • Provide leadership, supervision, coaching, and ongoing support to staff and volunteers.
  • Recruit, onboard, train, schedule, and evaluate staff and volunteers.
  • Participate 10-15 hours per week in programming.
  • Lead daily operation and continuous improvement of the Adult Program department.
  • Create an inclusive environment where members feel welcomed and supported.
  • Promote member engagement, retention, and participation to meet goals.
  • Support achievement of participation, retention, revenue, and budget goals.
  • Collaborate with leadership to achieve shared objectives.

Salary Range: $50,000.00 To $55,000.00 Annually

What you will do...

The Adult Program Supervisor is responsible for leading the delivery, growth, and overall operation of the Adult Program department, including fitness centre services, personal training, group fitness programs and adult recreational sports.

Reporting to the Center Manager, this role provides day-to-day leadership, coaching, and support to staff and volunteers while ensuring a safe, inclusive, and welcoming environment for members and participants. This position is fully on-site. Regular, in-person presence in the branch is essential to support our team and community.

The Adult Program Supervisor plays a key role in program quality, member engagement, staff development, volunteer leadership, and achieving participation and revenue goals that support the long-term sustainability of YMCA programs.

Responsibilities
  • Provide leadership, supervision, coaching, and ongoing support to Fitness Centre staff, personal trainers, group fitness instructors, recreational sport instructors and volunteers in each of the areas below.
  • Recruit, onboard, train, schedule, and evaluate staff and volunteers in alignment with YMCA policies and procedures.
  • 10-15 hours per week of direct participation in programming
  • Lead the daily operation and continuous improvement of the Adult Program department, ensuring high-quality fitness centre, personal training, and group fitness experiences that meet YMCA standards and support member well-being.
  • Create an environment where members feel welcomed, valued, and supported in their health and wellness journeys by fostering trust with members, staff, and volunteers.
  • Promote member engagement, retention, and participation by building meaningful relationships, delivering exceptional service, and empowering members with choices that support their individual health and wellness goals.
  • Support the achievement of participation, retention, revenue, and budget goals by monitoring program performance, identifying opportunities for growth, and ensuring the effective and responsible management of departmental resources.
  • Evaluates fitness trends, member feedback, and participation patterns to develop relevant programs that support member engagement and retention, making program adjustments as needed to meet community needs.
  • Collaborates with Centre leadership and the broader YMCA team to identify opportunities, address challenges, and achieve shared objectives
