Alberta Health Services is seeking an Administrative Support III to support patient registration and admission services at Chinook Regional Hospital. This role requires advanced administrative skills and the ability to handle complex procedures within the SZ CHIR HOSP Registration unit.
Primary duties include interviewing patients, processing admissions, and ensuring accurate data entry across registration areas. Training will cover privacy, medical terminology, and Connect Care systems.
The Administrative Support III - Registration position reports to the Team Lead and Supervisor, RSPI Southwest Zone. Under general supervision, this role performs a variety of administrative duties related to patient registration and admission services. Key responsibilities include interviewing patients and/or parents to obtain accurate information and processing inpatient and outpatient admissions and registrations across various registration areas within Chinook Regional Hospital.
As an Administrative Support III, you will require advanced administrative or specialized skills and knowledge to support complex procedures, practices and initiatives within a department or program.
Completion of Grade 12 or equivalent.
Additional Required Qualifications:Working knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel is required. Medical Terminology and keyboarding proficiency are essential; testing will be administered for both. Knowledge of legislation governing the access, privacy, and disclosure of patient information is required. Demonstrated ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team, supported by strong communication and interpersonal skills. Proven attention to detail, sound judgment, and the ability to maintain a professional demeanor while managing stressful situations with empathy, sensitivity, courtesy, and tact. Able to prioritize workload, adapt to frequent interruptions, and perform effectively in a fast-paced environment. Must be available to work all shifts based on operational requirements. Preferred Qualifications:Completion of a Medical Office Assistant (MOA) program or equivalent is preferred. Previous experience in a medical office setting, switchboard operations, and familiarity with Connect Care Patient Access, Netcare, and Person Directory are considered assets.
