Administrative Support II Health Information Management Information DeskReporting to the Supervisor of Registration, Switchboard and Patient Information (RSPI) and Health Information Records Management, the Administrative Support II serves as a front facing contact for the Patient Information desk and must have strong attention to detail. This position is responsible for supporting patients, families, visitors, volunteers, and other stakeholders throughout the facility with a positive and professional image while greeting and wayfinding. The incumbent is responsible for activating hospital codes and managing the coordination and maintenance of AHS pagers for healthcare providers.The employee shall maintain confidentiality of all Alberta Health Services (AHS) patient information in accordance with HIA, FOIPP and the AHS Information Privacy and Information Security policies while providing empathetic, professional customer service during their interactions.Other responsibilities include but are not limited to:Perform repetitive keyboarding.Operate a multi-line telephone system while wearing a headset.Ability to remain calm in highly stressful and dynamic situations.Critical thinking and focused problem solving skills.Prioritizing and multitasking.Providing excellent customer service in every interaction.Demonstrate proficient verbal and written communication.Train and mentor new employees and students.
As an Administrative Support II, you will require administrative or specialized skills and knowledge to support procedures, practices and initiatives within a department or program.
Completion of Grade 12 or equivalent.
Additional Required Qualifications:Typing speed of 40 words per minute, proficiency in phone etiquette, and exemplary written and verbal communication skills in English (tests administered).Customer Service experience.Demonstrated critical thinking skills and the ability to prioritize effectively in an environment with frequent interruptions and changing work demands.Ability to handle high levels of stress.This position requires you to lift a minimum of 50 lbs.This position will require you to walk, sit, twist, and turn, as well as stand on your feet for the duration of your shift.Proficiency in MS Office (Windows, Word, Excel, Outlook, MS Teams).
Preferred Qualifications:Minimum one year experience within the last two years in a health care setting.Knowledge of services and locations within the facility.Connect Care experience.
