Job summary

NAIT is seeking an Administrative Officer I to lead the school’s administrative operations and support service delivery. You will coordinate complex functions and support departmental and program objectives across the institution.

You will report to the Academic Strategy and Operations Manager, bringing sound judgment, strong organizational and leadership skills, and the ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining confidentiality and a professional demeanor.

Qualifications

  • Related degree such as Arts, Commerce or Business Administration.
  • 3-5 years of supervisory/leadership experience.
  • Equivalent combination of diploma level education and relevant experience may be considered.
  • Applicants with education credentials earned outside of Canada should have credentials evaluated by WES/IQAS/CES.

Reporting to the Academic Strategy and Operations Manager, this position provides leadership and oversight of the school's administrative team, ensuring effective operations and high quality service delivery. The role requires sound judgment, strong organizational and leadership skills, and the ability to coordinate complex administrative functions while supporting departmental and program objectives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Strong understanding of organizational objectives, policies, regulations, and administrative practices.

  • Excellent organizational, planning, and problem solving skills with strong attention to detail.

  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.

  • Ability to manage competing priorities, take initiative, and exercise sound judgment.

  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise tact and discretion.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and administrative systems (e.g., PeopleSoft).

Qualifications

This position is covered by the Alberta Union of Provincial Employees (AUPE) Collective Agreement.

Remuneration

Refer to salary range noted on this posting, plus a comprehensive benefits package.

The compensation range for this job posting is : $60,251.25 - $79,244.43
