CivicInfo BC is seeking an Administrative Assistant to cover a 12-month maternity leave in the Finance Department, then move to Strategic and Community Services. The role requires a diploma and a valid BC driver’s license, with a 35-hour work week and competitive benefits.

Administrative Assistant

(REGULAR, FULL-TIME)

We have an exciting opening that begins with covering an approximate 12-month maternity leave as the Administrative Assistant in the Finance Department and then transitions to the Strategic and Community Services Department on a permanent basis, which will provide a wonderful opportunity for development and exposure to a multitude of Regional District operations. The successful candidate will have a diploma in business, administration, or a related program, and hold a valid BC driver’s license.

Initially reporting to the General Manager, Finance, the Administrative Assistant is responsible for providing senior administrative support, as well as assisting the department in processing accounts payables, utility billing and cash receipting. The successful candidate will then transition to the Strategic and Community Services Department to provide senior administrative support for a wide range of operations, including parks, recreation and culture, solid waste management and rural services.

You have superb customer service and organizational skills, multi-tasking talents and well-developed administrative support abilities. Excellent communication and computer skills, combined with some general accounting knowledge, will make you stand out in this role. A minimum of two years of administrative or financial experience is required.
