Accounting Advantage in Toronto, ON, is seeking an AR Specialist to support billing, reconciliation, and customer statements.

You will handle credit checks, process journal entries, assist audits, and back up AP coordination; strong English and Excel essential.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of accounting/AR experience.
• Fluent English in speaking and writing.
• Basic accounting knowledge and understanding of deposits.
• Strong communication skills for collections calls.
• Detail oriented and highly accurate.
• Proficiency in Excel (basic).

Responsibilities

• Resolve billing issues and disputes on sales price.
• Reconcile accounts and comment on monthly AR report.
• Send out monthly statements.
• Credit checks using Equifax; process sales credit notes.
• Approve orders within credit limits.
• Print and check daily SOs and POs for posting.
• Create and process journal entries.
• Assist management with analyses; participate in audits.
• Handle customer complaints process including compensations and credits.
• Back up for Accounts Payable Coordinator.
• Distribute WSIB and Insurance Certificates.

Job description

• Resolve Billing issues (customer disputing sales price)
• Reconciliation of Accounts
• Comment on monthly A/R report
• Send out Monthly statements
• Customer card set up and customer sub-account set-up
• Credit checks – Equifax
• Process sales credit notes
• Approve orders in accordance to credit limits
• Print and check daily SO’s and PO’s for posting
• Ability to create and process journal entries
• Assist management with various analyses; participates in monthly and yearly audits
• Participates in customer complaints process (compensations, credit notes)
• Requests and distributes WSIB and Insurance Certificates
• Back up for Accounts Payable Coordinator
• 2+ years of Accounting/AR experience
• Strong understanding of deposits
• Basic accounting knowledge
• Strong work ethic
• Work with a sense of urgency
• Strong communication skills (making a collection call to a customer)
• Needs to be detail oriented and extremely accurate
• Fluent English: speaking and writing
• Excel: Basic skills are mandatory
