Accounts Payable Specialist

Reporting to the Senior Corporate Accountant, the Accounts Payable Specialist will be responsible for monthly invoice processing and assisting in the day-to-day financial administration of the Company.

Primary Responsibilities

• Process and code invoices for accounts payable;
• Process payments for vendors on a weekly basis (cheques, EFTs, and wire transfers);
• Prepare monthly accrual schedules;
• Process intercompany invoices, reconcile intercompany balances, and prepare cash calls for the mine sites and projects;
• Perform bank reconciliations;
• Prepare and update prepaid schedules;
• Assist with period-end close and financial reporting processes, as required;
• Assist in various other reporting functions, including:
• The preparation of journal entries;
• The analysis and reconciliation of general ledger accounts;
• Reconciliation and review of company-wide cash reconciliation processes;
• Assist with special projects and ad hoc reports.

Qualifications

Experience

Preferred

5+ years of relevant experience in a similar position.

A candidate with an accounting accreditation (or working towards one) is preferred.

Experience with SAP or a similar ERP system is considered an asset.

Strong attention to detail.

Ability to communicate clearly—written and verbal.

Ability to work independently and within a team environment.
