Named two years in a row to the Globe & Mail’s list of the Top Growing Companies in Canada and also awarded spots on Deloitte’s Technology Fast 50™ and Fast 500™ lists, we’re looking to add curious, hard‑working, and driven individuals to our growing team.

Headquartered in Toronto, Clutch was founded in 2017 and currently services Ontario, British Columbia, New Brunswick, Nova Scotia, and Prince Edward Island. We’re growing rapidly, with in‑house re‑conditioning centres, a captive lending platform and a national logistics network, we combine manufacturing‑grade operations with tech‑enabled consumer experience. We plan to list publicly within 24–36 months and are building the finance foundation to get there.

About the role

Clutch is looking for a leader to scale our Accounts Payable function as we continue our rapid growth. You are a highly organized, detail‑oriented professional with a passion for process excellence and team leadership. In this role, you’ll be responsible for overseeing the full AP lifecycle, strengthening financial controls, driving operational excellence, and supporting strategic initiatives within Finance & Accounting.

You are an experienced AP leader with a deep understanding of best‑in‑class processes, systems, and controls. You thrive in fast‑paced, high‑growth environments and excel at building teams, improving workflows, and partnering cross‑functionally. You will ensure financial accuracy and integrity while enabling the business to move quickly and efficiently.

What you’ll do
  • Lead, coach, and develop the Accounts Payable team, ensuring strong performance, high engagement, and continued professional growth.
  • Oversee and manage the end‑to‑end invoice to pay cycle, including invoice workflow, approvals, vendor management, and payment runs.
  • Own the design, implementation, and continuous improvement of AP policies, processes, and internal controls as Clutch scales and prepares for public‑company readiness.
  • Establish and track key AP performance metrics (aging, DPO, early‑payment discounts, workflow efficiency, error rates, and more), driving accountability and continuous improvement.
  • Partner closely with Procurement, Operations, Logistics, Treasury, and broader Finance teams to resolve discrepancies, optimize payment strategies, and improve upstream procurement/AP alignment.
  • Serve as the primary escalation point for complex vendor issues, contract terms, billing disputes, and compliance matters.
  • Lead AP’s role in monthly, quarterly, and year‑end close, including accruals, reconciliations, variance analysis, and external audit support.
  • Evaluate and lead system enhancements or implementations (e.g., AP automation, workflow tools, ERP improvements) to support scale and efficiency.
  • Collaborate cross‑functionally with Procurement, Operations, and Finance teams to resolve invoice or payment discrepancies.
  • Support ad‑hoc analyses, strategic initiatives, and cross‑functional projects that enhance Clutch’s financial operations and infrastructure.
We’re looking for
  • Post‑secondary education in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration.
  • 5+ years of progressive accounts payable experience, including 3+ years in a people leadership or management role, ideally within a high‑growth, multi‑entity, or operationally complex environment.
  • Proven track record of transforming AP functions at high‑growth companies.
  • Deep knowledge of AP best practices, financial controls, and month‑end close requirements; experience with public‑company readiness or SOX environments is an asset.
  • Proven track record of driving process improvements, implementing automation tools, and scaling AP operations.
  • Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills, with the ability to interpret data, identify trends, and recommend actionable insights.
  • Excellent communication, relationship‑building, and stakeholder‑management skills across internal teams and external vendors.
  • High level of ownership, accuracy, and attention to detail; able to manage competing priorities in a fast‑paced environment.
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel/Google Sheets and comfort working with ERP systems; experience with Oracle Fusion is a strong plus.
  • Entrepreneurial mindset - proactive, resourceful, and energized by building and improving processes in a growing company.
  • You are comfortable working at our Downtown Toronto office at 60 Adelaide St. E.
Why you’ll love it at Clutch
  • Autonomy & Ownership – create your own path, and own your work
  • IPO experience
  • Competitive Compensation!
  • Health & dental benefits
