Job summary

Nortera Foods Inc. in Brossard, QC, is seeking a Manager, Accounts Payable to lead a high‑performing team in a busy, bilingual environment.

You will oversee all AP activities, ensure strict internal controls, and drive process improvements to support the company’s financial objectives. The role requires at least 7 years in AP with 3 years in management, a DEC in accounting, and strong ERP and MS Office skills.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 7 years of relevant accounts payable experience in a large company, with at least 3 years in a management role.
  • DEC in accounting or equivalent training; strong understanding of the AP cycle.
  • Proficiency in ERP systems and in MS Office; excellent French and English communication.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and develop a high‑performing accounts payable team; foster skills development and accountability.
  • Oversee all AP activities in a high‑volume, dynamic environment with bilingual internal/external clients.

As Manager, Accounts Payable and reporting to the Accounting Director Canada, you ensure the strategic and operational management of the accounts payable team.

Demonstrating autonomy and having the capacity to influence, you drive the continuous optimization of processes, align activities with the organization's overall business objectives and ensure rigorous compliance with internal controls and performance indicators.

THE ROLE:

  • Lead, mobilize and develop a high-performance team of accounts payable technicians; foster a stimulating work climate focused on skills development, accountability and excellence;
  • Autonomously orchestrate and supervise all accounts payable activities in a high-volume and highly dynamic environment, with a team as well as bilingual internal and external clients;
  • Supervise the monthly closing of the accounts payable team, assist the accounting team with corrections related to the payables auxiliary as well as with bank reconciliation, and the handling of internal and external audit files;
  • Identify opportunities for improving payable processes, while convincing and mobilizing the different business departments to facilitate the adoption of best practices;
  • Act as a consultant and exert a positive influence with internal departments as well as external partners (suppliers, auditors) to effectively resolve complex issues and optimize workflows;
  • Establish, monitor and analyze the department's key performance indicators (KPIs); produce and present end-of-month reports, including age of accounts payable, and recommend proactive adjustments.

PROFILE:

  • Minimum 7 years of relevant experience in accounts payable within a large company, including at least 3 years in a management or team leadership role;
  • DEC in accounting or any other training deemed equivalent;
  • In-depth knowledge of the accounts payable cycle;
  • Proficiency in ERP-type integrated IT systems;
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in French and English;
  • Excellent management skills, ability to influence and lead;
  • Excellent ability to manage priorities in a dynamic and constantly changing environment;
  • Organization, autonomy, attention to detail and excellent professional judgment in handling emergencies and exceptional situations;
  • Very good command of the Microsoft Office suite and ability to adapt to new IT tools;
  • Knowledge of tax regulations (GST, QST and rules relating to large businesses).
