Job summary

Nortera Foods Inc. in Canada seeks a Marketing Director to lead cross-functional teams and drive strategic product and packaging initiatives from design to market launch.

You will oversee the global product portfolio, analyze performance, and coordinate with Sales, R&D, Marketing, Operations and Supply Chain to ensure rapid time-to-market and strong ROI.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 8 years of relevant experience in product/packaging leadership.
  • Experience managing cross-functional teams (Sales, R&D, Marketing, Operations, Supply Chain).
  • Bilingual French and English (Canada/US).
  • Knowledge of labeling rules in Canada and the United States.

Responsibilities

  • Lead strategic product and packaging initiatives with cross-functional teams.
  • Oversee new product development, launches and redesigns.
  • Manage portfolio performance and lifecycle analysis.
  • Lead Shark Tank meetings and train the sales team.
  • Control budget for packaging design and certification contracts.

Under the supervision of the Chief Commercial Officer (CCO) and as Marketing Director, you will actively participate in the strategic development of Nortera.

You will supervise the process of bringing new products to market, by managing cross-functional projects from design to marketing, and by bringing together and mobilizing the various stakeholders (Sales, R&D, marketing, operations and supply chain).

You will manage the global product portfolio, analyze its performance while deepening market knowledge. You will lead a team responsible for new product development, launch and redesign projects.

THE ROLE:

  • Collaborate with stakeholders (sales, operations and R&D) to drive strategic product and packaging initiatives, demonstrating leadership and influence;
  • Support a team of product developers and project managers/coordinators to ensure the long-term success of the team, develop talent, prioritize projects and ensure rapid time-to-market;
  • Make recommendations regarding the feasibility, production optimization, complexity and profitability of potential new projects;
  • Act as an internal business partner to meet customer needs regarding the launch of initiatives requiring development;
  • Implement optimization processes to improve efficiency and accelerate time to market;
  • Lead and organize Shark Tank meetings, ensuring that projects are fully feasible before being presented to clients;
  • Manage our project management tool and provide training and support to the sales team;
  • Manage the budget dedicated to the development of packaging and design for private labels, as well as certification contracts;
  • Participate in portfolio optimization (assortment gaps, lifecycle analysis, product launches and withdrawals) as part of the SIOP cycle;
  • Lead and guarantee the success of strategic projects with a significant impact on the company.
  • Implement tools and methodologies promoting efficiency and rapid decision-making.

PROFILE:

  • Minimum 8 years of relevant experience;
  • Experience in project management (ideally related to packaging purchases);
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously;
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills;
  • Proficiency in French and English (collaboration across Canada and the United States);
  • Commitment to supporting and serving customers;
  • Spirit of anticipation and proactivity;
  • Autonomy, influence and spirit of initiative;
  • Good knowledge of the legislation governing labeling rules in Canada, the United States and internationally (an asset);
  • Good knowledge of graphic design and packaging development.
