About The Job

We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Accounts Payable Associate to join our finance team. This role manages AP functions across the U.S. and Canada, ensuring accurate and timely invoice processing and compliance with tax regulations.

The Associate will provide financial reporting, administrative, and clerical support by verifying and reconciling invoices according to policies and procedures efficiently and accurately. Collaboration with Vendor Relations/Purchasing Administrator on discounts, purchase order discrepancies, and payment terms is essential.

Job Responsibilities

  • Assist in maintaining the integrity of the general ledger through accurate invoice and purchase order processing.
  • Maintain the Accounts Payable sub-ledger via daily posting, reconciliations, and analysis.
  • Verify vendor invoices by collecting backup documentation.
  • Ensure timely payment of liabilities.
  • Prepare vendor payments and remittances promptly.
  • Research discrepancies through internal and vendor communication.
  • Perform general office duties.
  • Prepare weekly check and EFT payment runs.
  • Reconcile VISA receipts.
  • Manage credit applications and submissions.
  • Input master data for vendors, customers, and growers.
  • Participate in employee cross-training.
  • Handle monthly vehicle lease postings.
  • Assist with other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Post-secondary education in accounting or business-related programs.
  • Experience in accounting/bookkeeping.
  • 3-5 years in accounts payable or similar roles.
  • High accuracy and sense of urgency.
  • Organizational and multi-tasking skills; ability to work independently.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Teamwork and effective vendor interaction.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
  • Overtime availability as needed.

Preferred

  • Knowledge of U.S. & Canada accounts payable processes and sales/use tax.
