Job summary

Crofton House School in Vancouver is seeking a dedicated Accounts Payable professional for a continuing full-time role based at our Kerrisdale campus. Reporting to the Controller, you will manage day-to-day AP tasks and ensure proper controls and approvals are followed.

This role starts late August and involves processing invoices, managing vendor data in Sage 300, handling cheque runs, and supporting auditors.

Qualifications

• Advanced Excel abilities required.
• Proficient with Microsoft 365 and Google Workspace.
• Knowledge of Sage 300 preferred.

Responsibilities

• Process vendor invoices and employee non-payroll expenditure with the appropriate supporting backup (eg: purchase orders, director approvals).
• Follow-up on outstanding requisitions and purchase orders.
• Manage and process school issued credit card payments with appropriate supporting documentation.
• Process bi-weekly cheque runs/electronic payments and any off-cycle payment runs as needed.
• Respond to all vendor enquiries in a timely and effective manner.
• Reconcile and manage petty cash accounts.
• Manage and maintain the vendor database and accounts payable ledger in Sage 300.
• Support the expense accrual process and data analysis, as well as provide ad-hoc documentation and information to auditors.
• Manage the filing and archival process of vendor files.
• Identify improvements or areas for increased efficiency within the accounts payable process.

Reporting to the Controller, the Accounts Payable position performs the day-to-day tasks associated with full cycle accounts payable processing and is responsible for ensuring compliance with proper controls and authorizations.

This role is based in-person at our campus in Kerrisdale.

• Strong technical skills and advanced knowledge of Excel
• Ability to build good relationships with vendors and other school departments
• Accurate data entry skills and attention to detail
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to handle multiple priorities and be organized
• High degree of diplomacy, discretion and confidentiality

Qualifications & Experience:

• Advanced abilities with Excel
• Proficient with Microsoft & Google Workspace
• Knowledge of Sage 300 preferred

This role is scheduled to start late August.

Employees of Crofton House School receive competitive compensation and support for professional, educational and leadership development. Employees are entitled to three weeks paid vacation plus 18 Admin Days (paid days off when the School is closed). Compensation: $55,000 - $59,000
