To support our mandate, HBA Chartered Professional Accountants is seeking an Accounting Technician to join our growing practice in Dartmouth, Nova Scotia.

Reporting to the managers and partners, the Accounting Technician will have the opportunity to quickly assume responsibility for a wide variety of engagements, including compilations, tax, and other special engagements.

What will it take to succeed in the role?

Your educational background preferably includes a recognized bookkeeping or accounting diploma, at least two years of relevant work experience or equivalent. You have proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and at least one accounting software package such as QuickBooks, Sage, Xero, or Wave. Experience with other accounting software, Canadian income taxes, Caseware, and TaxPrep are considered strong assets.

Personally, you are highly organized and detail-oriented with excellent interpersonal and communication skills. You have the ability to manage deadlines and workflow. You are motivated towards opportunities for advancement and career development.
