Job summary

Baker Tilly Canada Cooperative is seeking an Accounting Summer Student to join our team in Saskatchewan. You will assist with financial statements, tax preparation queries, and audits for various clients.

This is a 4-month term, full-time role with opportunities to learn and grow in a collaborative firm. Preferred candidates are in a post-secondary Accounting/Business/Management program, with strong communication, teamwork, and analytical skills.

Qualifications

• Must be enrolled in a post-secondary program (Accounting/Business/Management).
• Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work independently and in a team.
• Experience with QBO, Caseware, Tax programs, and MS Office is an asset.
• Good written and verbal communication skills; detail-oriented and analytical.

Responsibilities

• Assist with financial statement prep for compilations and review engagements for small to medium businesses.
• Review client information for personal and corporate tax returns and prepare queries.
• Participate in audits of institutional and non-profit organizations.
• Perform other related accounting functions.

Your role

• Assisting the team in financial statement preparation of compilations and review engagements for small to medium sized businesses
• Reviewing client information for personal and corporate tax returns, prepare query lists for clients
• Participating in audits of various institutional and non-profit organizations
• Performing other related accounting functions

What you bring to the table

• Must be enrolled in a post-secondary educational program (Accounting/Business/Management major)
• Must have strong interpersonal skills, self-motivated and an ability to work both independently and in a team
• Experience with computer software such as: Quickbooks Online (QBO), Caseware, Tax Programs (Tax Prep), and Microsoft Office (Word and Excel) is an asset.
• Good written and verbal communication skills
• Strong analytical skills along with attention to detail and a willingness to learn and develop
