Job summary

Baker Tilly Canada is seeking a CPA Student/New Graduate Accountant in Saskatchewan to support financial statement prep, personal and corporate tax returns, and assist in audits for SMBs and nonprofits. This role offers growth, mentorship, and exposure to a full-service firm.

You will collaborate with a dynamic team, develop technical skills, and pursue CPA designation with firm support, including training and a collaborative work environment.

Qualifications

• University degree in Accounting or Management.
• Strong interpersonal skills, self-motivated and ability to work independently and in a team.
• Experience with QuickBooks Online, Caseware, Tax Programs, and Microsoft Office is an asset.
• Good written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong analytical skills with attention to detail and a willingness to learn.

Responsibilities

• Assisting in financial statement preparation of compilations and review engagements for small to medium sized businesses.
• Preparation of personal and corporate tax returns.
• Participating in audits of various institutional and non-profit organizations.
• Performing other related accounting functions.

Your role

• Assisting in financial statement preparation of compilations and review engagements for small to medium sized businesses

What you bring to the table

• University degree, Accounting or Management major
• Must have strong interpersonal skills, self‑motivated and an ability to work both independently and in a team
• Experience with computer software such as: Quickbooks Online (QBO), Caseware, Tax Programs (Tax Prep), and Microsoft Office (Word and Excel) is an asset.
• Good written and verbal communication skills
• Strong analytical skills along with attention to detail and a willingness to learn and develop

Saskatoon, or Emerald Park, or Yorkton, Saskatchewan (please indicate your location preference within your cover letter)

Job type:

Permanent, Full-time

Your schedule:

Monday to Friday

Jan-June: 8:00am - 5:00pm (1 hr lunch) (40 hrs per week)

July-Aug: 8:00am - 4:00pm (1 hr lunch); (35 hrs per week)

Sept-Dec: 8:00am - 4:30pm (1 hr lunch); (37.5 hrs per week)
