Job summary

PCL Constructors Canada Inc. in Halifax, Nova Scotia, is seeking an Accounting Student for the Atlantic Canada district. This 4-month assignment offers hands-on exposure to project accounting, AP, journal entries and bank reconciliations within our Canadian Buildings sector.

Ideal candidates are pursuing an accounting/finance degree, with solid accounting knowledge and strong Excel skills. The role includes mentorship, inclusion in real projects, and a potential pathway to full-time roles.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a degree or diploma in accounting or finance.
• Solid understanding of accounting principles.
• Proficient with Excel and Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

• Complete A/P and journal entries for projects and overhead.
• Reconcile funds transfers from the corporate office.
• Prepare and process bank deposits and cash receipts.
• Verify vendor addresses in the accounting system.
• Enter revisions and maintain accurate records.

Responsibilities

Join us as an Accounting Student for our Atlantic Canada district, within our Canadian Buildings sector for 4 months starting January 2027. Depending on your assigned project as an Accounting Student, you will have the opportunity to contribute to our team by:

• Completing project and overhead-related A/P and journal entries.
• Monitoring and reconciling the transfer of funds from corporate office.
• Preparing and processing bank deposits.
• Processing and entering cash receipts.
• Verifying vendor addresses and entering them into the accounting system.
• Entering and processing revisions.

Qualifications

• Working towards a degree or diploma in accounting, finance or a related field.
• A deep understanding of accounting principles.
• Intermediate level skills with Microsoft programs, specifically Excel.
• Ability to multi-task and prioritize workload.
• Strong organizational skills with meticulous attention to detail.
