Job summary

Mission Community Services Society is hiring an Accounting Manager to lead the accounting team, partner with Directors and Managers, and drive financial accountability across the agency. CPA graduates or CPA students are encouraged to apply as you work under the Director of Finance to strengthen budgeting, reporting, and strategic planning activities.

• CPA designation or active CPA student status.
• Bachelor's degree in a related discipline.
• Full-cycle accounting experience including payroll, payables, receivables, and financial reporting (at least 2 years).
• Strong leadership, coaching, and team development skills.
• Advanced Excel and accounting software proficiency.
• Exceptional communication and relationship-building abilities.
• A passion for supporting community-focused work.

Responsibilities

• Lead and mentor a dedicated accounting team.
• Partner with organizational leaders to influence decision-making.
• Support budgeting, reporting, and strategic planning activities.
• Identify areas of risk and propose mitigation strategies.
• Manage process exceptions and confirm that processes produce the intended financial and business outcomes.
• Drive continuous improvement by simplifying processes, improving consistency, and fixing root causes.
