Location : Burlington, ON (Hybrid – 4 days in office)

Reports to : Accounting Manager

Salary : 45k- 50k annually

The Opportunity

Our client is seeking an ambitious Accounting Coordinator / Accounts Receivable Clerk to join their growing finance team. This role focuses on managing incoming payments, ensuring timely and accurate invoicing, reconciling accounts, and handling payment collections. The successful candidate will work closely with the operations and finance departments and report to the Accounting Manager.

You will join a highly collaborative team, including in-office team members and remote Virtual Assistants. The role provides exposure to various financial processes and offers opportunities for learning and career development.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain accurate accounts receivable records
  • Issue invoices and track payments
  • Follow up with clients regarding outstanding balances via phone and email
  • Reconcile discrepancies and resolve payment issues
  • Perform general finance and clerical duties
  • Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, especially operations

Qualifications

  • 1–2 years of relevant experience (including co-op placements)
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to catch discrepancies
  • Excellent judgment and commitment to accuracy
  • Comfortable communicating via phone and email
  • Adaptable and able to thrive in a fast-paced, evolving environment
  • Previous experience with accounting software is a plus
  • Knowledge of the freight / logistics industry is an asset
