Job summary

Harvey & Company Ltd. is an established Newfoundland and Labrador business seeking an experienced Accounting Associate to join our finance team in St. John’s.

Reporting directly to the Controller, you will support day-to-day accounting, financial reporting, and drive improvements across the organization. You’ll work closely with the Controller and cross-functional managers, gaining exposure to month-end, budgeting, analysis, internal controls, and systems.

Qualifications

• Post-secondary education in Accounting/Finance or related field.
• 3–7 years of progressive accounting or finance experience.
• Experience with general ledger, reconciliations, and month-end processes.

Responsibilities

• Prepare monthly and year-end financial statements.
• Complete account reconciliations and investigate discrepancies.
• Support month-end and year-end closing processes.
• Assist with accounts payable, accounts receivable, cash management, and general ledger.
• Prepare and review journal entries and supporting documentation.
• Assist budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning.
• Provide financial reports for management.
• Analyze financial results, trends, and variances.
• Collaborate with managers across the organization.
