Job summary

Natural Forces is seeking an Accountant in Halifax, NS to join a hands-on finance team. You will manage daily accounting operations, assist with month, quarter, and year-end closes, and help maintain strong internal controls across the organization.

Collaboration with cross-functional teams is essential to drive financial excellence. The ideal candidate has a bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field, 1–3 years of experience, and CPA consideration as an asset.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in business, accounting or finance is required.
• 1–3 years of progressive accounting experience preferred.
• CPA designation or active CPA program enrollment is an asset.
• Experience preparing journal entries, reconciliations and schedules for reporting.

Responsibilities

• Maintain daily accounting operations including AP/AR and month-end close.
• Prepare journal entries, reconciliations and financial reports.
• Prepare sales tax filings in compliance with guidelines.
• Monitor cash flow and forecast needs.
• Maintain general ledgers and ensure accurate reporting.
• Ensure internal controls and regulatory compliance.
