Job summary

Blubooks, a Vancouver-based bookkeeping firm, seeks an Expert Accounting Associate to join a growing team. You'll handle multiple client relationships, prepare financial statements, and post journal entries while communicating with clients and collaborating with colleagues.

You'll be trained on client specifics and software; some staff work in office, others remotely across Alberta or Ontario, with optional team events.

Blubooks is a bookkeeping company located in Vancouver, BC. We are working with some of the world's leading accounting software companies in North America to make bookkeeping more affordable, efficient and enjoyable - for both the bookkeepers and the clients.

Role Description

This is an exciting time to join our company, as we are growing rapidly! We're looking for an Expert Accounting Associate who can hit the ground running from day 1.

We will train on the specific nature of the clients and the software we use, but you must have a good amount of bookkeeping / accounting experience to pull from.

This role in particular will grow in responsibilities quickly so we are looking for someone hungry for a spot on a growing team.

As an expert associate, you will be responsible for preparing financial statements, journal entries, and client communication alongside other members of the team. Some of us work from the office in Vancouver, some in locations in Alberta or Ontario and many of us work permanently remote. We sometimes get together for special events but which are optional but encouraged.

Qualifications

• The ability to handle multiple client relationships is a must! (Expect 30+)
• Expect a fast-paced environment where training is available but you have to be proactive
• A strong base of bookkeeping
• Strong attention to detail as we deal with a lot of reports and exact numbers
• Must be comfortable communicating with clients via email (frequently) and video calls (infrequently)
• Ability to work independently and ask for help when you need it!
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field or equivalent experience
• Experience with Quickbooks, Xero or other popular financial software is important (or Bench)

Optional

• A previous role with a client volume of 25 - 40 monthly is an asset
• French fluency is an asset (We speak to Revenu Quebec occasionally)
• Bench Accounting alumni is an asset
