Base pay range

CA$60,000.00/yr - CA$65,000.00/yr

This position requires the employee to work from our office a minimum of once per week, so applicants must be located within the Greater Toronto Area (GTA).

Additionally, Canadian payroll and accounting experience is required for this role.

Your Impact

Reporting to the Head of Finance, you will play a crucial role in supporting the day-to-day operations of the accounting department. You will be responsible for ensuring the accuracy and efficiency of financial transactions, maintaining organized records, and assisting with various accounting processes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist with accounts payable and accounts receivable tasks, ensuring timely and accurate processing of invoices and payments.
  • Help in processing payroll for employees, including calculating wages, deductions, and taxes.
  • Support bookkeeping activities, including maintaining financial records, updating ledgers, and reconciling accounts.
  • Reconcile bank transactions and intercompany transactions, identifying and resolving any discrepancies.
  • Assist in the monthly, quarterly, and yearly closings, preparing necessary reports and documentation.
  • Respond to finance-related tickets and inquiries from internal teams and external partners, providing timely and accurate information.

Education

  • Bachelor's degree or Diploma in accounting or a related field.

Experience

  • 1-3 years of experience in an accounting or bookkeeping role.

Technical Knowledge

  • Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Xero)
  • Strong Microsoft Excel skills (including formulas and functions)
  • Knowledge of basic accounting principles and practices
  • Familiarity with payroll processing procedures and software such as ADP or Cerdian
