Job summary

MNP is seeking an Accountant to join our Assurance & Accounting team in Canada. You will conduct compilation, review, audit, bookkeeping and tax engagements while supporting client onboarding and file setup for new businesses.

Working with GAAP/IFRS knowledge and CPA PEP enrollment, you will prepare financial statements, discuss findings with clients and help manage multiple files with travel as needed. Competitive salary and benefits offered.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in commerce or business administration (accounting/finance preferred).
• Enrolled in CPA PEP (CPA).
• 0–1 year of accounting experience; GAAP/IFRS/SEC knowledge; experience with accounting and tax software.

Responsibilities

• Conduct compilation, review, audit, bookkeeping and tax engagements.
• Set up files for new clients and newly incorporated businesses; manage multiple files and counts.
• Perform accounts receivable/payable, asset acquisition/disposition and payroll walkthroughs.
• Summarize clients' financial status with balance sheets and P/L statements.
• Assess appropriateness of audit evidence for expenses, revenues and other items.
• Review and correct discrepancies and irregularities in financial entries and reports.
• Establish charts of accounts and prepare posting entries.
• Prepare correspondence, reports and client presentations outlining findings.
• Collaborate with client engagement team; travel as necessary.
