As an accountant for our Toronto office, located in Oakville, ON, you will contribute to our team by:

Responsibilities
-Processes all accounts payable and accounts received in a timely and accurate manner.
-Provides project teams with ad hoc reports and analysis as the need arises.
-Assists with the assembly of information for internal and external financial reporting requirements.
-Assembles client billings packages in accordance with contract terms and conditions and ensures timely payment.
-Collects and obtains approval and processes through PCL business systems all accounts payable and accounts receivable in a timely and accurate manner to meet all contract payment terms as per legislation, contract terms, and PCL policy and procedures.
-Participates in year-end and audit procedures as assigned.
-Effectively communicates with internal and external stakeholders, as required.
-Develops and maintains strong customer focused relationships with all stakeholders.
-Other duties as required.

Qualifications
-High school diploma.
-Bachelor’s degree or diploma in a related field is considered an asset.
-Some student experience or 6 months to 1 year of accounting or administrative experience is preferred.
-Exposure to project forecasting and budgeting.
-Basic understanding of accounting principles, including maintenance of ledgers and cash flows.
-Exposure to project costing principles, recoveries, insurance, and contract/subcontract requirements as related to accounting
-Exposure to subcontract purchase order terms, including insurance and subcontractor default insurance requirements.
-Basic understanding of lien rights.
-Ability to act with the required discretion when handling confidential information.
-Understanding of Microsoft Office Suite and experience with accounting software is an asset.
