Job summary

BoomerangFX in Mississauga, Canada is seeking an Accountant to join our growing finance team. The role covers all aspects of general accounting, including financial record-keeping, reconciliations, budgeting support, and audits.

Ideal candidates have strong analytical skills and experience with multiple accounting software platforms. The position requires detailed work, teamwork, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Prepare financial statements: balance sheet, income statement, cash flow.
• Process biweekly payroll and monitor it.
• Maintain general ledger, reconcile accounts, manage chart of accounts.
• Perform month-end and year-end close activities and post journal entries.
• Conduct financial analysis to identify trends and concerns.
• Review monthly general ledger reports and reconcile AR/AP GLs.
• Reconcile balance sheets to lead sheets, including inventory and fixed assets.
• Reconcile bank accounts regularly.
• Respond to internal inquiries about G/L postings.
• Assist with annual audits.

Position Overview

We are seeking a skilled and detail‑oriented Accountant to join our growing finance team. As an Accountant, you will be responsible for all aspects of general accounting, including managing financial records, performing account reconciliations and analysis, and assisting with budgeting and financial auditing. The ideal candidate will have experience with various accounting software, possess strong analytical skills, and have a solid understanding of corporate finance principles.

Key Responsibilities

• Preparing financial statements, including the balance sheet, income statement, and cash flow statement
• Responsible for processing biweekly payroll and monitoring
• Responsible for maintaining the general ledger, reconciling accounts, and managing the chart of accounts
• Perform month‑end and year‑end close activities, including reconciling accounts, posting journal entries, and preparing financial reports
• Conducting financial analysis and analyze financial data to identify trends, patterns, and areas of concern
• Review monthly general ledger report
• Reconcile AR and AP GL to the subledgers on a monthly basis
• Reconcile all balance sheets to appropriate lead sheets, including Inventory and fixed assets continuity schedules
• Reconcile all bank accounts
• Respond to internal inquiries regarding G/L account postings
• Assist with annual audits

What Are We Looking For

• 2 years of previous relevant experience
• Degree in accounting, finance, or a related field
• Strong understanding of accounting principles and standards
• Excellent analytical and problem‑solving skills
• Strong attention to detail
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Excellent communication skills
• Proficiency in Quick Books Online, Ceridian and Microsoft Excel
