About The Role
The Account Manager II is responsible for providing a best-in-class customer experience, serving as the first line of contact for our customers. They are responsible for ensuring all freight is serviced to meet/exceed the customer’s standards, while also communicating customer needs and changes to the operations teams. They are expected to develop and maintain customer relationships, while achieving company defined operational metrics.
You will be eligible to earn a monthly bonus, in addition to your base salary, in your first full calendar month and enjoy working in a fast-paced, sales environment.
This position will work at our office in Oakville with the work schedule being Monday – Friday 9am – 6pm.
What The Candidate Will Do
- Responsible for understanding current market trends, to successfully offer pricing to customers’ requests for quotes
- Correspond with customer and carrier sales team regarding accessorial charges
- Manage shipment level interaction with client customer service and Uber Freight logistics support to handle day to day activities such as tracking, tracing and communications
- Ensure operational compliance for US and Foreign Regulatory Requirements
- Establish relationships, negotiate, and develop carriers regularly via phone and email in order to develop core and dedicated carriers
- Ensure customer satisfaction and high service levels where freight is picked up and delivered on time using safe, reliable carriers
- Meet or exceed team financial and individual performance goals
- Develop knowledge of carrier supply and demand, spot market pricing, and factors that impact freight markets
- Carrier profile management- learn carrier requirements, needs, contacts and update carrier profiles regularly.
- Acquire knowledge of freight network/lanes- know what internal freight lanes we run and find carriers that match these lanes
Basic Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- Minimum 2 years of experiencein a carrier sales, freight brokerage, or transportation logistics role.
- Proven ability tonegotiate ratesand secure truckload capacity in both spot and contract markets.
- Ability tomanage multiple loads and carriers simultaneouslyin a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency inMicrosoft Office, especially Excel or Google Workspace.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business, Logistics, or related field
- Existingcarrier network or book of business
- Experience working with load boards (e.g.,DAT,Truckstop,123Loadboard).
- Exposure tointermodal, drayage, or LTL
- Familiarity withcarrier scorecardsand performance metrics
