Job summary

Business Development Bank of Canada is seeking a Commercial Account Manager in Durham Region. You will combine business development and relationship management to support entrepreneurs with tailored financing and advisory solutions.

You will build a pipeline, assess credit, and present proposals while leveraging your network with COIs and local partners to grow the business and help communities thrive.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in business administration, Commerce, Finance or related field.
  • Experience analyzing financial statements and assessing creditworthiness.
  • Proven track record in business development and meeting/exceeding sales targets.
  • Experience managing a portfolio of clients and building long-term relationships.
  • Strong negotiation, influence, and presentation skills.
  • Established professional network within the Durham Region business community.

Responsibilities

  • Meet with entrepreneurs to understand objectives, challenges, and growth plans; tailor financing and advisory solutions.
  • Execute a business development and portfolio strategy to grow and retain client relationships.
  • Build a robust pipeline through prospecting, referrals, and community engagement.
  • Structure, negotiate, and present financing proposals with sound credit judgment.
  • Develop relationships with COIs (accountants, lawyers, brokers) to generate referrals.
  • Represent BDC in the Durham Region through events, associations, and local initiatives.
