Job summary

Business Development Bank of Canada (BDC) is seeking a team-oriented professional to provide high-quality client service, support the financing team, and handle documents such as letters of intent and contracts. The role involves coordinating proposals, obtaining signatures, and ensuring accuracy in our systems.

The incumbent will also participate in marketing efforts, respond promptly to clients, and help identify funding opportunities while working in a hybrid office environment balancing work

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree in Business Administration is required.
• 1 to 3 years experience in a similar role is preferred.
• Experience with payables and receivables is an asset.
• Strong client service orientation and initiative in sales opportunities.

Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality client service to resolve basic questions and inform seniors on complex cases.
• Support the business development team and branch manager with daily tasks.
• Prepare letters of offer, letters of intent, contracts and related documents with signatures.
• Identify funding opportunities and participate in portfolio development.

This person also performs various administrative tasks and provides support to the team.CHALLENGES TO BE METProvide excellent client service to BDC clients in resolving basic client questions and inform senior levels of complex cases.Provide excellent support service to the business development team and business center manager.Respond promptly, accurately, and professionally to existing and potential clients by ensuring compliance with policies, procedures, and practices.Prepare letters to clients and professionals according to the specific process (e.g., letter of intent, letter of offer and mandates to professionals), and/or prepare proposals/contracts for clients ensuring that the information is accurate and entered in our system, that all necessary documents are prepared, that the required conditions and forms are met, signatures are obtained, and follow-up is done.Actively participate in portfolio development by identifying funding opportunities and developing innovative value-adding solutions to meet client needsConduct pre-qualification and risk rating assessment activities for existing and potential BDC Financing clientsProactively participate in the branch's marketing efforts by organizing events, campaigns, and activities, preparing marketing communications, and providing on-site logistical support.WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FORBachelor degree in Business Administration, College diploma in accounting or an attestation of college studies;Between 1 to 3 years experience in a similar role;Experience with payables and receivables is considered an asset;Client service orientation and demonstrated ability to demonstrate initiative in listening, identifying sales opportunities and resolving issues;Strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize and deal with various situations at all times;The ability to communicate effectively through email and in person including during meetings to provide timely information relevant to the business;Ability to work independently and meet tight deadlines;Teamwork, creativity, flexibility, collaborative spirit and desire to work as part of a team;Working knowledge of MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, One Note, Teams).Access to a vehicle and a valid driver’s license may be required.Bilingualism in French and English is a requirementThis position requires working in an office environment a minimum 3 days per weekProudly one of Canada’s Top 100 Employers and one of Canada’s Best Diversity Employers, we are committed to fostering a diverse, equitable, inclusive and accessible environment where all employees can thrive and feel empowered to bring their whole selves to work.
