Job summary

DEPT® is hiring an Account Director as part of our Global Studios team in a short-term freelance engagement. You will lead large, integrated campaigns, manage client briefs from start to finish, and ensure profitable delivery by coordinating designers, copywriters, developers and producers.

You will mentor junior team members, drive process improvements, and contribute to hiring and professional development while maintaining strong client relationships and strategic input.

JOB PURPOSE

This role is part of our Global Studios team. We create emotive yet conversion-focused ideas, products and campaigns at scale and speed. Our specialty is hyper-personalised, digital communications that change perceptions, shape new behaviours, and shift market share for our clients.

As an Account Director, you will be responsible for building strong relationships with clients at all levels including strategic input, and overseeing the delivery of a wide variety of substantial integrated campaigns.

You will be required to manage client briefs from start to finish, planning, assigning and reviewing creative and managing the overall agency workload in partnership with the producers, design and copy leads.

You will be working closely with designers, copywriters, developers and other parts of the agency to ensure successful campaign deliveries; which are profitable without compromising the creative integrity.

Therefore, you must be a great team player with strong interpersonal skills.

WHAT YOU'LL DO
  • Manage client accounts and projects from briefing through delivery, ensuring work is completed on time, on budget, and to a high standard.
  • Build and maintain strong client relationships, acting as a trusted advisor and managing expectations.
  • Coordinate cross-functional teams, balancing workloads and communicating client feedback effectively.
  • Oversee project scope, budgets, contracts, and resources to maximise account performance and profitability.
  • Lead account planning, proposals, presentations, and new business opportunities.
  • Drive process improvements and ensure consistent delivery across all projects.
  • Monitor account performance and provide strategic recommendations based on client objectives and results.
  • Mentor and support junior team members, resolving project challenges and escalations.
  • Lead and develop project teams, delegating work effectively and fostering collaboration.
  • Support hiring, onboarding, performance management, and professional development.
  • Encourage innovation, continuous improvement, and high-quality delivery across the team.
  • Manage change effectively and communicate priorities to ensure smooth execution.
